The fragmentation patterns of aromatic 3-methylisoxazolo- and 2-methyioxazolopyridines were investigated by high-resolution mass spectrometry and collisionally activated B/E and B/E linked scans. The isoxazolopyridines give mass spectra near identical with those of the corresponding oxazolopyridines, both showing mainly a competitive loss of CO and CH3CN from the molecular ion. However, the ratio of these concomitant pathways depends substantially on the type of fusion between the five- and six-membered rings.

Abstract
The fragmentation patterns of aromatic 3-methylisoxazolo- and 2-methyioxazolopyridines were investigated by high-resolution mass spectrometry and collisionally activated B/E and B/E linked scans. The isoxazolopyridines give mass spectra near identical with those of the corresponding oxazolopyridines, both showing mainly a competitive loss of CO and CH3CN from the molecular ion. However, the ratio of these concomitant pathways depends substantially on the type of fusion between the five- and six-membered rings.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
