A case of subdermal myasis due to dermatobia hominis is reported in a 45 year-old forestry engineer from Germany who had been in Guatemala 30 days before. The skin disorder is characterized by the presence of a nodular-ulcerative lesion, located on the forehead, painful and of hard-elastic consistence. Both the removal of the parasite, obtained by simply squeezing the lesion, and a local and systemic antibiotic treatment, led to the disappearance of the disorder in three weeks. The vital cycle of this parasite is described.
