The author reports on the developmental changes of electrophoretic profile by discontinuous gel electrophoresis in presence of SDS of water-soluble and water-insoluble proteins of human cerebral cortex. Appearance or disappearance of some proteins and shifting in the relative proportion of others were showed. These changes indicate the existence of a specific protein pattern for each age, responsible for the structuring of the architecture of the central nervous system.
