The article explores the most recent evolutions of the transformative learning theory. How and under what conditions individuals, groups and community may be supported in change and develop? Starting from an analysis of its original roots in emancipatory pedagogy, the contribution articulates an examination of the transformative methodologies useful to elicit the review of the taken for granted assumptions in individuals, groups and community.
