In this note, the classical Popov criterion is generalized to include problems with parametric uncertainty as well as nonlinear sector bounded perturbations. The parametric dependence is modeled by an interval plant description. A robust Popov criterion is obtained for a plant-controller configuration. Stronger extremal results are obtained for a special class of controllers. An example illustrating the numerical implementation of these results is presented. © 1993 IEEE
