Downhole changes in physical properties at CRP-2, reflecting sedimentological changes induced by glacial marine processes, are measured by a suite of well logs (density, resistivity, neutron, microresistivity, spectral gamma-ray, and magnetic susceptibility), in conjunction with a core-based lonestone abundance log. The CRP-2 section is subdivided into eight log-based units. Downhole porosity changes are affected by lithology - particularly diamict - and diagenesis. Variations in spectral gamma-ray logs, in particular thorium, are correlated with core-based provenance changes throughout CRP-2. These provenance changes may link glaciation and relative sea level at CRP-2: "interglacial" erosion by glaciers of highland Ferrar Dolerite is associated with highstand sedimentation (e.g., muds), whereas glacial encroachment onto lowland Granite Harbour Intrusive rocks is associated with lowstand diamicts. A sequence stratigraphic model is applied to the logs to identify sequence boundaries and systems tracts within CRP-2, independently of sequence identifications based on lithology.

Abstract
A sequence stratigraphic model is applied to the logs to identify sequence boundaries and systems tracts within CRP-2, independently of sequence identifications based on lithology.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
