In this paper a 125 MHz digital oscillator with good frequency stability and instantaneous phase lock capability is presented. The circuit, that was developed using the Motorola “ECLPS” and “ECLPS lite” logics, allows a frequency lock independent of the phase lock, which is a feature not present in conventional PLL circuits.
