XRD and microprobe data on calcite coexisting with dolomite for 130 specimens of marble indicate crystallization T of 260-500oC, increasing from E to W across this deepest tectonic unit of the N Italian Apuan Alps. The variation in metamorphic T is believed to reflect a variation in metamorphic palaeogradient from the root zones (SW) to the front (NE) of the ultrafolds developed during the Alpine orogenesis.-R.A.H.

Abstract
XRD and microprobe data on calcite coexisting with dolomite for 130 specimens of marble indicate crystallization T of 260-500oC, increasing from E to W across this deepest tectonic unit of the N Italian Apuan Alps. The variation in metamorphic T is believed to reflect a variation in metamorphic palaeogradient from the root zones (SW) to the front (NE) of the ultrafolds developed during the Alpine orogenesis.-R.A.H.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
