The contribute of the “Regione Toscana Project of Geological Mapping” for the realization of geological sheets 1:50.000 scale

The “Regione Toscana Project of Geological Mapping” aimed to the realization of the geological maps at 1:10,000 scale for the whole region, ended in the 2005. It has been performed through the participation of the three Tuscan universities (Firenze, Pisa and Siena), of the Institute of Geoscience and Earth Resources-CNR, with the co-ordination of the Regional Geological Survey. A complete detailed geological coverage for the whole regional territory has been performed, then integrated with the creation of a GIS data base and with an on-line distribution service, managed by the Regione Toscana.
