This paper discusses some aspects concerning a defining process in geometrical context. In the reference frame of the theory of "figural concepts" (Fischbein, 1993) and taking into account the results of previous investigations (Mariotti, 1991, 1993), a sequence of classroom activities was designed and carried out in a 6th grade. The research project had the general aim of observing the interaction between figural and conceptual aspects of geometrical reasoning in a classroom situation, as it emerges from a 'collective discussion' (Bartolini Bussi, 1991, 1995).

Abstract
This paper discusses some aspects concerning a defining process in geometrical context. In the reference frame of the theory of "figural concepts" (Fischbein, 1993) and taking into account the results of previous investigations (Mariotti, 1991, 1993), a sequence of classroom activities was designed and carried out in a 6th grade. The research project had the general aim of observing the interaction between figural and conceptual aspects of geometrical reasoning in a classroom situation, as it emerges from a 'collective discussion' (Bartolini Bussi, 1991, 1995).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
