Alps and Apennines: a natural laboratory for Structural Geology and Geodynamics

A 2-day international conference is organized to ho- nour the memory of these uncomparable Maestri. The conference is organized by the Società Geologica Italiana (SGI), the Gruppo Italiano di Geologia Strutturale (GSGI), the APAT-Servizio Geologico d’Italia, the Department for the Study of the Territory and of its Resources-University of Genova, the Department of Earth Sciences-University of Pisa, and the Department of Earth Sciences-University of Siena. The conference is sponsored by the Cassa di Rispar- mio di Genova (CARIGE) Foundation, and is part of the manifestations organized in the framework of the Interna- tional Year of Planet Earh (IYPE). This thematic section of the Rendiconti della Società Geologica Italiana hosts the abstracts of contributions presented at the conference.
