The aims of our study have been: to verify the long-term protection (4 or 5 years) in an at risk adult population, to whom DNA-recombinant vaccine was supplied, as well as possible conditions which can give rise to an absent or weak response to immunization. The anti-HBs determination was carried out by means of the IMX AUSAB kit. All subjects responded to vaccination. Our results confirm the DNA-recombinant vaccine’s safety and immunogenicity, and show the adults at risk with an initial titre < 600 mIU/ml, as potential candidates to a booster dose. Male sex and advanced age are conditions which influence a low response.

Abstract
The aims of our study have been: to verify the long-term protection (4 or 5 years) in an at risk adult population, to whom DNA-recombinant vaccine was supplied, as well as possible conditions which can give rise to an absent or weak response to immunization. The anti-HBs determination was carried out by means of the IMX AUSAB kit. All subjects responded to vaccination. Our results confirm the DNA-recombinant vaccine’s safety and immunogenicity, and show the adults at risk with an initial titre < 600 mIU/ml, as potential candidates to a booster dose. Male sex and advanced age are conditions which influence a low response.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
