The analysis of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in sodium vapor was carried out. It was performed experimentally by means of excitation with a broadband multimode dye laser. The excitation of sodium vapor was observed to be one hundred percent with circulatory polarized laser light. It was found that the linear polarization excitation produced complete destruction of the EIT resonance.

Abstract

The analysis of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in sodium vapor was carried out. It was performed experimentally by means of excitation with a broadband multimode dye laser. The excitation of sodium vapor was observed to be one hundred percent with circulatory polarized laser light. It was found that the linear polarization excitation produced complete destruction of the EIT resonance.
