Both the directional Doppler C.W. and thermography possess great accuracy in the detection of the presence or absence of varicoceles. The Doppler appears more available than thermography to detect small and moderate sizes varicoceles. Most of large sizes varicoceles are missed if Doppler diagnosis is made only on the basis of a regurgitant venous flow finding on Valsalva manoeuvre and if a diagnostic significance was not given to the detection of high baseline venous flow. Because of its physiological outlines the primary indication of Doppler is the screening of sub-clinical varicoceles in patients with subfertility.

Abstract
Both the directional Doppler C.W. and thermography possess great accuracy in the detection of the presence or absence of varicoceles. The Doppler appears more available than thermography to detect small and moderate sizes varicoceles. Most of large sizes varicoceles are missed if Doppler diagnosis is made only on the basis of a regurgitant venous flow finding on Valsalva manoeuvre and if a diagnostic significance was not given to the detection of high baseline venous flow. Because of its physiological outlines the primary indication of Doppler is the screening of sub-clinical varicoceles in patients with subfertility.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
