This report describes R-CCD differential photometric studies of CY Aqr performed with the cheap HI-SIS 23 camera in presence of heavy statistical noise (relative low star brightness). While singular value decomposition analysis was able to detect the star period with high accuracy, Fourier analysis did not reveal any dominant frequency. To-day these time series analyses may be performed easily also by the amateur using cheap software as the "Chaos Data analyzer".
