The Cu(II) complexing ability of polymers with amido and amino groups as side-chain substituents of a polyvinylic chain was studied in aqueous solution by potentiometric, calorimetric and spectroscopic techniques. Log//1//0 beta was evaluated for the species CuL**2** plus at different pH's (L means the repeating unit of the polymer). The e. p. r. and electronic spectroscopic data reveal the mechanism of coordination. The thermodynamic data suggest the formation of a seven-membered chelate ring.

Abstract
The Cu(II) complexing ability of polymers with amido and amino groups as side-chain substituents of a polyvinylic chain was studied in aqueous solution by potentiometric, calorimetric and spectroscopic techniques. Log//1//0 beta was evaluated for the species CuL**2** plus at different pH's (L means the repeating unit of the polymer). The e. p. r. and electronic spectroscopic data reveal the mechanism of coordination. The thermodynamic data suggest the formation of a seven-membered chelate ring.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
