A survey of the building materials used in the facades of the architecture inside the fortified walls of Siena is reported, together with a building-by-building evaluation of the condition of these materials. The data obtained were plotted by a Geographic Information System in two 1:2000 scale maps entitled Materials Chart, and Conservation Chart. They constitute a reference source for organizations in charge of deciding conservation strategies.
