The case is reported of a girl aged 12 years who suffered from chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis. Treatment with amphotericin B failed to bring about cure, but the combined treatment with amphotericin B and autovaccines was successful. The mycological studies revealed no decrease of the sensitivity of the Candida to amphotericin B, nystatin or 5 fluoro uracil. It was only in the case of 5 fluoro cytosine that higher concentrations were necessary for a fungicidal effect than in a control test. Immunological studies revealed the reversal of the initially negative erythrocyte transformation test and of the skin test with candidine after the successful therapy.

Abstract
The case is reported of a girl aged 12 years who suffered from chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis. Treatment with amphotericin B failed to bring about cure, but the combined treatment with amphotericin B and autovaccines was successful. The mycological studies revealed no decrease of the sensitivity of the Candida to amphotericin B, nystatin or 5 fluoro uracil. It was only in the case of 5 fluoro cytosine that higher concentrations were necessary for a fungicidal effect than in a control test. Immunological studies revealed the reversal of the initially negative erythrocyte transformation test and of the skin test with candidine after the successful therapy.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
