The landscape of Scarlino, located along the seaside of Grosseto (Central Italy), has been studied by Department of Archaeology (University of Siena) since 1979. The archaeological site has been pointed out by the interpretation of air photos from vertical historical coverage. Unfortunately the absence of a project to map the individuated features and the unavailability of GPS device for navigation for those times made the identification of the evidences on the field difficult. The analysis of the aerial photo allowed anyway the interpretation of the site as an triple enclosure and the lack of a correct check on the ground avoid to understand the chronology of is site. In this paper, data collected employing ground remote sensing techniques, are shown with the aim to open new perspective for the archaeological research in the landscape around the site.

Abstract
In this paper, data collected employing ground remote sensing techniques, are shown with the aim to open new perspective for the archaeological research in the landscape around the site.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
