Intratypic serodifferentiation of poliovirus by immunodiffusion test [Differenziazione intatipica di virus polio per mezzo di test di diffusione in agar]

Isolates of poliovirus strains can be distinguished as Sabin-like and non Sabin-like strains using different methods. In the present report we describe the use of strain-specific antisera in immunodiffusion tests for the intratypic serodifferentiation of poliovirus. The technique is effective and reproducible, can be performed more easily, and is much less time consuming than other methods.
