The author outlines the main current issues in employment and labor law (contract and subordination, technology, globalization, environment) based on a vision similar to the critical approaches of Umberto Romagnoli —which Barbagelata had described as «disenchanted»— and then following the thread of analysis of Alain Supiot, whom he considers a jurist who, through the use not strictly legal academic disciplines such as sociology, philosophy, anthropology, etc., forces us to «fly higher» in the study of the legal problems of the world of work.
