Following an introduction to ancient and medieval divination treatises of the ecomantic (relating to omens drawn from random domestic events) and enodiomantic (relating to omens drawn from random encounters on the street) types, the focus shifts to the Tabula prenostica Salomonis. This short Latin treatise, probably of Arabic origin, interprets omens of this type based on the zodiac sign in which the Moon is currently located. Transcripts of two versions, one contained in the Gent manuscript of Venantius of Moerbeke's De presagiis futurorum libellus (Centrale Bibliotheek der Rijksuniversisteit 5) and the other in a manuscript in Siena (BCI L.VII.18), are provided. Finally, it is demonstrated that a treatise similar to the Tabula prenostica Salomonis is alluded to at the end of the thirteenth century in one of the stories in the Novellino (48 = XXXIII), featuring the Provençal lord En Barral del Baus.

Abstract
Finally, it is demonstrated that a treatise similar to the Tabula prenostica Salomonis is alluded to at the end of the thirteenth century in one of the stories in the Novellino (48 = XXXIII), featuring the Provençal lord En Barral del Baus.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
