Unione bancaria e mercato unico dei capitali: qualche riflessione su sinergie e ostacoli anche nella prospettiva della “SIU”

The essay offers some reflections on banking consolidation from the perspective of strengthening European integration and as a tool for advancing projects that are currently partially or totally unfinished: the Banking Union and the Capital Markets Union. These projects, spurred by the Letta and Draghi reports, have regained interest and have been further enriched by the European Commission’s new proposal to establish a Savings and Investments Union. The essay highlights both the strengths and weaknesses of these initiatives.

Il saggio propone qualche riflessione sul consolidamento bancario visto nell’ottica del rafforzamento dell’integrazione europea e come strumento per la realizzazione di progetti allo stato parzialmente o totalmente incompiuti: l’Unione bancaria e l’Unione dei mercati dei capitali. Progetti che, grazie alla spinta dei rapporti Letta e Draghi, hanno riacceso l’interesse e si sono arricchiti con la nuova proposta della Commissione europea di realizzare una Unione dei risparmi e degli investimenti. Il saggio evidenzia luci e ombre di questo transito.
