Ezio Gallori was the protagonist of numerous union struggles, protests, and strikes in Italy during the 1980s and 1990s. He made significant contributions to improving the working conditions of Italian railway workers and advancing demands on issues such as safety, work shifts, and wages. In 1987, Gallori wasone of the founders of Co.M.U., a union coordination of train drivers on Italian railways. His political-union journey is remarkable, as he was a central figure in grassroots unionism in Italy, having broken ties several times with the confederated union and CGIL. This text presents excerpts from two interviews with Ezio Gallori and explores his political and union formation, from the first self-organized strikes to his expulsion from CGIL.
