Abstract – The authority of the Spanish Crown in the Viceroyalty of Peru is analyzed from the Bourbonic reforms up to the application of the Cadiz Constitution. The dominion, and its holding, occurred thanks to the balance between the respective political structures of the natives on one hand and the Crown on the other, which yielded the reproduction of the former’s government structure, yet mixed as a consequence of the cultural syncretism and overlapping.
