La linea Einaudi giudicata dai partiti politici. L'opposizione in Parlamento

The essay focuses on the parliamentary debate on the “Einaudi line”, the economic program of the 4th De Gasperi government, with particular reference to the judgment of the oppositions, which was heavily critical. Many of the speeches examined, especially those of the leaders, went beyond the technical aspects and responded to ideological urges dictated by the harsh confrontation between political parties at the start of the Cold War. What is noticeable is that such judgments have sometimes been assimilated a-critically by historiography, what has not been conducive to understanding the real Luigi Einaudi’s thought and action.
