This article builds upon the recent publication of three volumes on different aspects of Italian colonial culture. Its aim is twofold: firstly, to contextualize them within the already established literature on the subject, highlighting its evolution, main lines of research, and problems. Secondly, to emphasize their elements of novelty, as well as the criticisms, in order to show the vibrancy of this field of study and the multiple perspectives opened by these recent contributions. © FrancoAngeli.
