Eur. fr. 472m K. is the only fragment ascribed to the Lamia, generally identified, with a certain degree of plausibility, with a satyric play. Possibly derived from the same source is also fr. inc. fab. 926 K., which describes a female creature licking her nostrils. Folkloric parallels and iconographic comparisons suggest that the protagonist of the action might have been Lamia herself, often described as an anthropophagous therion characterized by bestial gluttony.

Abstract
Eur. fr. 472m K. is the only fragment ascribed to the Lamia, generally identified, with a certain degree of plausibility, with a satyric play. Possibly derived from the same source is also fr. inc. fab. 926 K., which describes a female creature licking her nostrils. Folkloric parallels and iconographic comparisons suggest that the protagonist of the action might have been Lamia herself, often described as an anthropophagous therion characterized by bestial gluttony.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
