Pensare la precarietà alimentare in tempi di crisi: prospettive e limiti d’intervento nel contesto contemporaneo

This article introduces the thematic section on food insecurity. It particularly aims at defining the multiple contemporary meanings of poverty in food habits and practices as a heuristic tool to develop tailored social interventions. After having explained how social inequalities and poverties are key concepts to think sociologically food insecurity, the article offers an overview of the interventions and policies adopted in the field of food (in)security within national and international contexts. It finally outlines the limits and perspectives of such interventions which are fighting nowadays with complex crises that are more and more taking both cyclic and structural characters.
