Strikter Pazifismus oder Wahl der besten Alternative?

In his book "Pazifismus - Eine Verteidigung" ("Pacifism - A Defence"), Olaf Müller defends a rather strict pacifism that does not allow military aid to Ukraine in the Ukraine war - despite the recognition that it is a criminal war of aggression by Russia. The article critically reconstructs and discusses Müller's pacifism and gives an outlook on a better ethical alternative, namely welfare-ethical limited optimisation, i.e. the choice of the best alternative according to welfare-ethical criteria from a set of alternatives (limited by the moral budget). This alternative is not pacifist in principle, but also allows or, if necessary, demands military aid against illegitimate aggression.
