New data on distribution and ecology of Cordulegaster trinacriae from the Calabrian side of the Pollino National Park (Basilicata, Calabria) are presented. The species was recorded at ten localities in the province of Cosenza, nine of which were previously unknown. Larvae were recorded from medium-sized to large rivers at a minimum altitude of 120 m a.s.l. and a maximum of 600 m a.s.l. The riverbeds were mostly intact and protected by a zone of well structured riparian forest. To date, C. trinacriae doesn’t appear to be at risk in the region, but global climate change and increasing use of fresh water for human purposes are likely to pose a threat in the near future.
