In October 1940 Fausta Cialente was summoned to the British Middle East Headquarters, in Cairo, to collaborate with the radio broadcasts for Italian soldiers in Libya and prisoners of war in the English camps in Egypt. Five months later, in February 1941, Cialente began to write down meticulously her anti-fascist experience in a diary, from the transmissions Siamo italiani, parliamo agli italiani (1940-1943) to the foundation and direction of the newspaper «Fronte Unito» (1943-1946), which eventually became «Il Mattino della Domenica» (1946). The diary sheds light on the little-known figure of Laura Levi, who under the nom de guerre Anna Caprera dedicated herself to intense anti-fascist activity in France, Egypt, and Italy. The contribution is intended to highlight Laura Levi’s militancy in Paris in the 1930s and the relationship between Levi and Cialente through the war diary, which testifies their friendship and their common contribution to the anti-fascist propaganda.

Abstract
The contribution is intended to highlight Laura Levi’s militancy in Paris in the 1930s and the relationship between Levi and Cialente through the war diary, which testifies their friendship and their common contribution to the anti-fascist propaganda.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
