The contribution shares the main results of a research conducted by Federsanità Anci Toscana and the Laboratory on Inequalities of the Department of Social, Political and Cognitive Sciences of the University of Siena on behalf of the Social Observatory of the Tuscany Region. Starting from the transformations that have affected the work of social workers and managers during the first 18 months of the pandemic emergency, a reading of the impact of the pandemic from Covid 19 on regional social services is presented. The growth of frailties and the increasing demand for social services, the organization and reconfiguration of social service interventions, and the operating methods and daily practice of social workers are analyzed. The contribution ends with a final reflection aimed at outlining the main scenarios highlighted by the research
