The article illustrates the most important contributions to American Literature published in 2020 by Italian scholars. 2020 Italian scholarship includes mono- and multithematic essay collections, monographic books, and numerous articles, essays, and translations of classic and contemporary literary works. The variety of methods and themes demonstrates a diverse and highly specialist range of interests, more vibrant regarding the 20th and 21st centuries. Close attention to visual and performing arts and fruitful dialogue between literature and cinema, history, geography, philosophy, religion, and ecology achieve significantly innovative contributions. Some excellent monographs - particularly relevant at national and international levels - address different authors and genres, emphasizing prose and poetry.
