Commentare il testo tradotto. Il caso di Les Cloches di Apollinaire nella versione di Caproni

This paper suggests a reflection on the possibility and the opportunity to comment and gloss translations, providing them with what Segre called punctually «an apparatus of verbal illustrations intended to enhance the understanding of a text». The hypothesis here proposed, in order to examine critical and editorial issues when annotating a translated texts, is of a commentary which is traditionally composed of: a foreword or introductory statement, focused on the history of the texts; both texts paired (facing text translation); the notes line by line, in which trying to make clear the relationship between the texts starting from the target text and the choices made by the translator – choices which are documented, whenever possible, by self-comment notes and intertextual relationships, referring especially to the translator’s linguistic system and his/her main cultural references.

L’articolo propone una riflessione sulla possibilità e sull’opportunità di commentare le traduzioni, dotandole di quello che Segre ha definito puntualmente «un apparato di illustrazioni verbali destinato a rendere più comprensibile un testo». Per sondare i problemi critici e editoriali del commentatore di testi tradotti si propone un’ipotesi di commento che si articola tradizionalmente in un “cappello” introduttivo, dedicato alla storia dei testi, i due testi a fronte o «bitesto», le note verso per verso, nelle quali si tenta di chiarire la relazione tra i testi a partire dal testo di arrivo e dalle scelte fatte dal traduttore, che sono documentate, quando possibile, dalle note di autocommento e dai rapporti intertestuali, con particolare riferimento al sistema linguistico del traduttore e ai suoi principali riferimenti culturali.
