La ‘farfalla’ e la scabbia. Una nota sul versiculus puerilis 11 Blänsdorf

Versiculus puerilis 11 Blänsdorf, derived from Porphyrion’s scholia to Horace, Ars poetica 417, was a recurring exclamation in childhood games, in which “the hindmost” was reproached for being “scabby”. Its metric form, however, is the result of an old intervention by L. Müller. A re-examination of the question leads to conclude that the genuine form of the sentence is actually prose: therefore, it must be removed from the collections of Latin poetic fragments.

Il versiculus puerilis 11 Blänsdorf, ricavato dagli scolii di Porfirione a Orazio, Ars poetica 417, costituisce un’esclamazione ricorrente nei giochi infantili, in cui si tacciava “l’ultimo arrivato” di essere “scabbioso”. La forma metrica, tuttavia, è frutto di un vecchio intervento di L. Müller. Un riesame della questione induce a ritenere, tuttavia, che la forma genuina della frase sia prosastica e che debba dunque essere tolta dalle raccolte di frammenti poetici latini.
