Usi civici a Viterbo tra XVI e XVII secolo: la riforma di Paolo III e lo Statuto comunale del 1649

The work analyzes the presence and regulation of civic uses in the territory of a City of Papal Tuscia, Viterbo, subject to the dominion of the Holy See. The sources examined refer mainly to the right to pasture and to the right to make wood, even if, between the two, the one in question most is ius pascendi, given the importance that pastoralism has in the local economy. Under Pope Paul III an attempt was made to reform the discipline of common pasture and with the Statute of 1649 the matter was definitively and in detail regulated.
