This paper focuses on some aspects of Roman jurisprudential literature between II and III century B.C., in particular with reference to the largest diffusion of a genus scribendi: the notae on previous texts of jurists (more or less far in the time). The author examines the chief traits in this annotations (also with respect to other works, like commentaries, libri ad, libri ex et cetera), their overall meaning in the history of Roman legal science, their role in the literary production of various prudentes and the relations between jurists annotated and annotators.
