The paper contains a study of Jons Jacob Berzelius's Larbok i Kemien, that is The textbook of chemistry which was a favourite chemical textbook in the first half of the nineteenth century .The first edition was published in Swedish from 1808 to 1818, and was soon translated in German in various, improved edition. Berzelius used the various foreign reprints of his textbook to modify the theory of the chemical science. The paper presents a complete study of the various editions of the Larbook (Swedish, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch) and such a study allows to enlighten the extraordinary influence of Berzelius on the science in the Romantic Age.
