Over the last few decades, the 'history of emotions' has been at the centre of a fruitful debate, still ongoing, which has been enriched by a growing number of studies and approaches. Starting from the first reflections of Lucien Febvre, which provided the first impetus to these studies, and paying particular attention to the dimensions of uncertainty and fear, this review intends to reconstruct, from a comparative perspective, the evolution of the literature on this topic. The goal is to capture the main past and future lines of evolution of a growing field of study that has been influenced by different disciplines and which is playing an increasing role in the historiographical field.

Abstract
Over the last few decades, the 'history of emotions' has been at the centre of a fruitful debate, still ongoing, which has been enriched by a growing number of studies and approaches. Starting from the first reflections of Lucien Febvre, which provided the first impetus to these studies, and paying particular attention to the dimensions of uncertainty and fear, this review intends to reconstruct, from a comparative perspective, the evolution of the literature on this topic. The goal is to capture the main past and future lines of evolution of a growing field of study that has been influenced by different disciplines and which is playing an increasing role in the historiographical field.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
