Fozio e Giobio

The longest of the codices that make up patriarch Photius' Bibliotheke is devoted to the Treaty on the Incarnation by the monk Jobius (VI century AD). Echoes of this work can be traced also in Photius' Amphilochia The patriarch seems particularly interested in Jobius' approach to the question of Trinity; while not always sharing the same views, Photius says openly that he appreciates the way Jobius singles out the problems. The existence of this kind of "dialogue" between Jobius and Photius is revealed by a comparison of the issues that recur identical both in the summary of the Treaty on the Incarnation and in the Amphilochia. From this kind of analysis seems to be confirmed the definition of Jobius as a Wegweser, "road sign", given by Josef Slipyi, highlighting his role offorerunner for Photius' Trinitary speculations, particularly those relating to the Filioque.
