The prohibition of interracial marriages in the Italian fascist legislation. More than eighty years after the prohibition of the celebration and registration of interracial marriages, the article examines its contents, its practical application and how this prohibition was influenced by the (pre-existing) Italian colonial legislation. In the second part, the article aims to reconstruct the arguments made in the juridical debate on the compatibility of the prohibition of "mixed" marriages with the Lateran Treaty of 1929.
SOMMARIO: 1.
