The relationship between Nietzsche and music is first and foremost the relationship with music composition. Although he don’t follow an ordered course of study, young Nietzsche leaves a considerable amount of works. This article explores the influence of Beethoven on the earliest compositions, from the attempt challenge himself with the sonata-form till the imitation of melodies. This article also tries to establish connections between nietzschean compositions and some Beethoven's sonatas, that he surely knew thanks to Krugs, up to track down actual quotes.
