This article analyses the teaching of journalistic translation strategies from Russian to Italian with a particular focus on economics texts. Scientific productions ranging from sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, to modern lexicology were selected, and a contrastive approach was adopted to analyze as a case study a set of different translations of a specific authentic journalistic text. The translation test was administered to third year university students in Italy (with a B1+/B2 knowledge of Russian as a foreign language). The aim was to collect experential data and define the main issues that students face when carrying out such translations.

Abstract
