The aim of this paper is to perform a synthetic reconstruction of the Italian Socialist Party’s electoral history in Tuscany, from the origins to the second post-war period. Among the most important issues are lack of penetration among rural population until the 1920s and difficulties in facing the Communist Party’s increase in the second postwar period. Based mostly on press sources, the paper offers geographically disaggregated electoral data and lists of socialist leaders and deputies.
