Considering the evident socio-cultural changes of the last few years, the university – and even more so degree courses – must review their training offer to align themselves with the demands of a constantly changing world of work. In this context, incoming orientation program, is fundamental. Therefore, for orientation services, it seems necessary to have effective tools to detect the needs and motivations of potential students enrolled and point out areas in which to invest time and resources. In this work tried to develop an instrument that was able to measure: the motivation to the university course choice, the power and the value of the motivation for the subsequent enrollment in the course but, above all, the level of influence they had in the choice of the various services and the various subjects deployed to the orientation of the students of the last year of high school. 190 freshmen enrolled in the degree course in Education Sciences of the University of Siena were tested with results that seem to confirm the validity of the procedure. © 2018, Edizioni Universitarie di Lettere Economia Diritto. A partire dagli innegabili cambiamenti socioculturali degli ultimi anni, le università – e più in specifico i singoli corsi di laurea – sono chiamati a rivedere la propria offerta formativa per allinearsi con le richieste di un mondo del lavoro in continuo mutamento. In quest’ottica, l’orientamento universitario in entrata, assume un’importanza fondamentale. Per i servizi di orientamento sembra quindi necessario dotarsi di strumenti che siano quanto più possibile efficaci nell’intercettare le esigenze e le motivazioni dei potenziali studenti iscritti e che evidenzino gli ambiti in cui investire tempo e risorse. In questo lavoro si è cercato di mettere a punto uno strumento che fosse in grado di misurare, contemporaneamente: la motivazione alla scelta universitaria, la forza e la valenza della motivazione per la successiva iscrizione al corso ma, soprattutto, il grado di influenza che hanno avuto nella scelta i vari servizi e i vari soggetti deputati all’orientamento degli studenti dell’ultimo anno di scuola superiore. Sono state testate 190 matricole iscritte al corso di laurea in Scienze dell’Educazione e della Formazione dell’Università di Siena con risultati che sembrano confermare la validità della procedura.
