Il cristianesimo di Giulio Africano: i Kestoi tra "precetto aureo" e "guerra giusta".

Carrying on the research concerning the typology of Julius Africanus’ Christianity in the Chronographiai (ASE,32,2015),the Kestoi and their military sections are investigated from the perspective of a unitarian author's Christian identity. The technical sections on the armament’s updating, biological and chemical weapons and preventive war techniques fit into a framework of 'morality' of the war that takes the features of a Christian 'just war'. Unlike a largely antibellicist and pacifist view of Christian origins as widespread in the modern historiography, Julius Africanus's views on the usefulness of a good governance of war and the use of violence according to strategies that are of 'defense'/love’ of the ‘Roman’ agree with the Chronographiai’ historiographical and antignostic guidelines .
