The paper addresses the role of philosophical ontology as the foundation of computer ontology, which is at the basis of computer language. In particular, the topic of web semantics is addressed to highlight the ever-present risk of evolution in a form of partial reductionism, which relativizes the factual reality according to the conceptual scheme that one wants to use/impose.
