The paper analyses the recent collective work Lessico critico dell’ ‘Orlando furioso’, by highlighting the sections most relevant for the historical-linguistic studies. Furthermore, a comprehensive survey is provided of a common textual phenomenon of Ariosto’s poem: the ‘breaks’, that is the passages from a narrative trend to another.
