Trattamento open ed endovascolare degli aneurismi dell’aorta sottorenale in fase di rottura: nostra esperienza.

Rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAAr) is one of the most severe medical emergencies as it is associated with high morbidity and mortality. From January 2006 to May 2015 Operational Unit Complex Vascular Surgery of Grosseto arrived and underwent surgery 87 AAAr. The 82 open surgery were performed using the technique of Creech while 5 to rEVAR. In the OR group we have found a death rate at 30 days by 37% while in group rEVAR of 0%. In addition to the benefits in terms of mortality in patients undergoing rEVAR they have an average length of stay in the ICU / CCU significantly lower (0.37 days for rEVAR; 6.87 for OR) compared with the group OR. Even the hospital stay total is less than in the group rEVAR with an average of 8.87 days compared with an average of 17.77 days for the group OR. EVAR is a valid alternative in the treatment of the OR aaar, but more studies are still needed to make this method standard
